The vision behind Todo2d

At Todo2d, our mission is to help you work on what can be done, rather than getting bogged down in lists, organization, and scheduling. We believe that most task management and to-do list applications focus too much on input and organization, neglecting the core purpose of an application: supporting your workflow.

To achieve this, we've adopted a simple yet powerful concept: Todo2d should be used to determine what needs to be done next. This approach ensures that Todo2d is always focused on helping you get work done, rather than distracting you with unnecessary reminders or organizing.

A focus on the now

By prioritizing "now" over "later," we're able to create an application that's truly responsive to your needs. One key feature that supports this approach is the ability to hide blocked tasks. When a task is blocked, it disappears from view, leaving only the ones you can work on. This helps you stay focused on what's feasible in the present moment.

Be proactive instead of reactive

Todo2d is about taking control of your tasks and activities, focusing on the essential actions that need to be taken rather than relying on constant reminders of what needs to be done.

When tackling a task, it's essential to be proactive: complete the task and then move on to the next one. This approach helps prevent getting bogged down by distractions, which is why we've decided not to include reminders and notifications in our workflow, as they can foster a reactive rather than an active mindset.

If there is need to be reactive, most computers and mobiles have a perfectly capable agenda in which you can set reminders.

Make decision making easy

Our primary goal is to minimize your app usage time. Ideally, you should open the app, assess your upcoming tasks, and only revisit it once those tasks are completed.

However, real-world scenarios often involve multiple interconnected tasks. In such cases, prioritization becomes crucial. Here's our suggested approach:

  1. By default, we recommend blocking dependent tasks. This allows you to conceal all tasks that rely on another task, which must be prioritized first.
  2. Secondly, consider organizing tasks using one of the priority matrices for better clarity and efficiency.
  3. Lastly, assign duration to tasks. This will help you in selecting a task that can be completed in the time you have available.
